Gaga for Jezebel

Note: I am writing this not to call for a christian boycott, or some anti-gaga movement. Truth is soon Gaga will fall as quick as she has risen and some other artist will take her throne. I write this to ask parents and students to be more discerning with your entertainment diet. Music is more than just music. It carries a spirit. A true christ follower takes care to fill their life with, “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable” (Phil 4:8). SO, these are my thoughts to why Gaga does not make my list and why she should not make yours…

Like a “bat out of hell” Lady Gaga has risen from obscurity to worldwide phenomenon. Seems the whole globe has suddenly gone gaga for Gaga. Yesterday she shut down one of the largest internet sites on the web with the debut of her second album. No doubt this talented young lady has accomplished something so few pop icons ever will, and has done so within months, not years. However, there is more to Gaga than talent and clever marketing. Behind the power ballads and catchy lyrics is a bolder message that is influencing a generation.

Music is more than entertainment. Anyone who doesn’t realize that dismisses its power. Music is art, art is speech and powerful speech at that. Art is the creative expression of an individual’s thoughts and ideas. There is a message behind all art, and music is one of the best ways to express that message. That is why Gaga can’t just be listened to. You have to hear what she is saying and subject that message to the truth of God’s Word. Otherwise you may find yourself biting the apple of her addictive melodic hooks and subtly contemplating her ideology.

Gaga is a preacher and her congregation is large (did you know she is an ordained minister?). Last year she was named in Time Magazines 100 most influential people of 2010. Rare for someone who was barely known the year before. That would make her the most powerful ‘minister’ this generation knows. What’s her message? Let’s look at three…

Open Sexuality

Gaga is provocative. Everything from her costumes, lyrics, videos, and lifestyle scream open sexuality. Her song “Poker Face” is all about her own perverse view of sex (the video alone should have told you that). When she appeared on American Idol, the show had to censor her high-heels because they were penises. For her appearance on Good Morning America she came dressed in a condom. Gaga is doing more than reflecting cultural attitudes concerning sex. She is pushing greater openness and removing the boundaries that keep your sexuality pure. Nothing is taboo, everything is permissible and sex is something to be worshiped. Gaga is simply the latest incarnation of an ancient spirit named Jezebel and her followers should beware.

Jezebel was a prophet of Baal. Open sexuality was one of the chief forms of Baal worship and it’s main symbol, the Asherah pole, was a large sculpted penis. Baal worship would involve ritual mass-sex in front of these poles that littered ancient Israel thanks to Jezebel. Gaga has made herself a phallic symbol (dressing as a penis), much like a modern day asherah pole and encourages open sexuality as accepted self expression (that’s the gist of her Poker Face video).

A generation who falls prey to her perverted sexuality will never know the gift of God’s purest sexuality. Paul warns us, “He who sins sexually sins against his own body” (1 Cor 6:18). This is a danger zone that you can’t afford to fall into!

Open Rebellion

Gaga is openly, unapologetically rebellious. She expresses her love for Judas over Jesus in her latest release “Judas”. “Jesus is my virtue, Judas is the demon I cling to I cling to” she sings and makes a self-judgement about that saying “In the most Biblical sense, I am beyond repentance.” Gaga is a very spiritual person… just the wrong spirit. Judas lived at Jesus’ side, yet still allowed satan to enter into him. I fear too many have no clue what spirit Gaga is of – I assure you, she does!

For her performance in the Grammy’s Gaga arrived inside an egg that she claimed to have been inside of for three days. She then “hatched” on stage before the world. When asked on GMA the next day about the performance she said it was her “Rebirth”. And went on to say that everyone needs a rebirth. I agree… we must all be born again, but listen to Gaga’s meaning behind that expression. In the GMA interview she said that, “we must all be reborn to look inside yourself, to love yourself. Not to look outside oneself, but inside for answers.” Gaga’s rebirth is to self-worship. It’s an anti-christ spirit.

Consider the obvious parallel she is making between herself and Christ. Jesus was in the tomb three days. Gaga was in her egg three days. Jesus was raised from the dead. Gaga was reborn from from the egg. Jesus’ message, turn to God. Gaga’s message, turn to self.

Jezebel was openly rebellious towards the God of Israel. She led a nation astray and was so powerful that she sent Elijah running for his life the day after he confronted her and her prophets of Baal. No discerning Jesus follower can make any room in their life to entertain themselves with a message that leads one away from Christ. Israel made room for Jezebel, and she altered the course of that nation for centuries. Make room for Gaga, and one may find a similar fate.

Open Advocacy

Born This Way, is her message to the homosexual community. Gaga has become a very vocal voice to advance not just tolerance, but mass acceptance and even participation. Gaga claims she is returning the favor because the homosexual community was the first to embrace her. She has poured tons of money towards the cause, and has used her social media power to mobilize her ‘monster’ army. Gaga is proving herself a powerful force to not just entertain a generation but to also persuade a generation and move them to action. Not an easy feat. She’s doing it well.

Jezebel controlled an entire nation by using her sexuality, her spirituality, and position. Her open rebellion towards God led Israel astray. From Jezebel until the exile of Israel you see Jezebel’s mark on the spiritual life of that nation. She turned that nation and they never returned.

I have contended in the past that tolerance or acceptance is not true love. Love does not tolerate. It seeks to change. Love says I can’t leave you as you are or just accept you as you are. Love lays down its life to enable another to find life. That is what Jesus did. He laid down his life, so that you could truly be reborn to new life. Yes, each us us were “born this way” into sin, but thank God that He did not just accept us as we are and leave us there. He forgave us our sins, removed our sins, and raised us up to His righteousness! That is not the message Gaga is advocating. God’s truth brings life, Gaga’s lie is bringing death!

You summon what you serenade!

Let me finish with this thought, “you summon what you serenade.”  My good friend Will Ford shared that thought with me a few years ago and it has stuck. If you serenade yourself with the wrong message, you’ll summon the wrong spirit. That was my immediate thought the moment I saw Gaga’s latest album cover (I posted the picture above).

I don’t see a young lady in that picture, I see what I believe she intended – a siren. A mythological demon that lured unsuspecting sailors to her with her song only to destroy them. There is more behind Gaga than her catchy tunes. There is a demonic spirit, a siren’s song, luring unsuspecting listeners away from the life of Christ’s light.  Her song is a message for open sexuality, rebellion, and advocacy.  Her audience is massive.  Her influence is great.  I warn you, don’t get captured by her song!

  • Wow…. Its amazing how so many youth are deceived by these spirits and have a hard time believing that the spiritual world is real and is right among us to cause God’s creation to fall… We got to rise up and take our generation back

  • Thanks for exposing this. The problem today with many people is they are either deceived by the demon or afraid to expose it. Please continue to expose the demonic force that is behind Lady Gaga and make aware other christians of the danger that is behind this seemingly harmless “musical artist”.

  • She dressed up as a condom to promote safe sex. She’s not literally in love with “Judas”. That’s just idiotic. Whose death has she brought exactly? This entire article is filled with misinformation.

  • Music does not corrupt people. People corrupt music.

Take the statement as it is. See it how u will see it. I grew up listening to all kinds of music in a Christian house hold. I was Taught to appreciate all music, and the talent people have.

It is not out place to pass judgement on a person. That is for God only!

Instead of pointing fingers and shaming people, people should focus on spreading the word. One does not need to pass judgement one others to do this.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. John 8:7
Is this any of you? Can you say you live your life without sin? If so, you are welcome to throw the stone. If not, work one spreading the word. Not passing judgement and pointing fingers.

You are no better than she, for you are also a sinner. No sin is better than the other.

  • @Nick…exactly….she shouldn’t be promoting pre-marital sex at all…and she’s bringing spiritual death(seperation from GOD) to a whole generation…and the fact that you’re taking up for her shows how deceived you are the “Siren” already.

  • Thank you for writing this article, Daniel. I have shared it on my Facebook Wall. It’s time people WAKE UP and stop embracing things they say they don’t as Christians.

  • @katie and Nick……I just took this as a warning, to be cautios of whay you listen to. And yes we should try to help GaGa. But for now it is wise to not embrace her music. She is a person who glorifies her sins. Not saying that i don’t have sins, I just don’t promote them or encourage other people to either.

your right, we shouldn’t stone her, but we shouldn’t support her, we should help her. and we should inform other people who do support her that she is leading them away from the Holiness of God.

  • What a great post!!! I couldn’t agree more. I am so grieved by the perverse and deceptive spirit Lady Gaga operates under.

  • Thank you for asking America to wake up and consider what we think of as “entertainment.”

  • He’s not attacking Gaga as a person, but as a spirit. Those who are listening to her music are actually entertaining & being influenced by a spirit. Jesus said to love people but hate sin & what Mr. Norris is trying to do is to inform the culture of what Gaga’s true message is, not to get her persecuted or anything.
As believers, in accordance w/ spreading the Word, it is also our job to look after one another & be a light to this world. Knowing this is the wrong message, how can we just sit back and allow this to take over?! Expose the lies & deceit of the enemy! Thanks Mr. Norris for this realization of what’s ‘behind the music’!

  • This article is much needed and verbalizes truths that I had continuously been blind too. I used to love Lady Gaga. I practically worshiped her. Now the scales have fallen from my eyes, and I see her as someone (whether intentionally or unintentionally) leading the masses astray. It’s repulsive and frightening but I have strength through Christ so all is not lost.

I’m really glad that the writer brought up the point that music is art, and that as a form of art, it is a form of powerful speech. When I tried to explain this to friends whom listen to Tyler the Creator and the like, they shut me down because they don’t believe music is “that serious” that it could determine where they end up in the afterlife.

  • Lady Gaga is promoting fornication, rebellion, and homosexuality. She is a teacher of sin. Tell me how this is okay Nick and Katie?

  • I have sent this to our youth pastors as they are at the front of the battle – thanks for your boldness and explanation – clear and powerful – prayer is the only thing that will turn the tide of the enemy’s power through people like Gaga in these last days – how amazing a force she could be if she were just in the right camp and not the enemy’s – praying for a powerful move of the TRUE GOD in her life!

  • We love the sinner but hate the sin, obviouly there are lots of people supporting her agenda thats why she is so popular. I just wished people like lady GaGa would be considereate of her followers the younger crowd..she is sending mixed signals and its all for a buck. it’s just sad.

  • Wait, wait, wait… I love how the “casting stones” scripture is always taken out of context to excuse one’s sinful nature. NO ONE is calling for Gaga’s imminent death. NO ONE is calling for us to go gather stones and take this girl’s life. When Jesus said “He without sin cast the first stone” wasn’t preverbal – they were going to kill her – HELLO! But, even Jesus called her lifestyle sin: verse 11 in John 8 says “Go and SIN NO MORE”.

BTW, calling sin as sin DOES NOT EQUATE JUDGING SOMEONE. We are here to preach God’s Word. God’s Word has judged what sin is. I’m not judging you: God’s Word has declared what sin is – now go judge yourself.

  • We christians should really worry about living what we believe instead of worrying about others lifestyles.. Romans 14:22 the message says “cultivate your own relationship with God, but dont impose it on others. You’re fortunate if your behavior and your belief are coherent” ..

If your worried about your kids then spend more time with them and become a role model they look up to.. But we have no business worrying about anybody elses lifestyle or platform.. love doesnt force anything.. doesnt even force the christian message or beliefs..
Sin is not the issue here.. Love is.. Lets love and accept everybody.. this isnt our table to say who gets to sit and dine.. its Gods..

  • All of the “devoted” Christians are the first ones to pass judgement. Its really saddening to me because I was taught never to hate ANYONE, hate is a very strong feeling/word and for these “Christians” making all of the above statements…. maybe you should spend more time w your kids and just DON’T LISTEN TO HER IF YOU DON’T LIKE HER! ((Although as a “Christian” you’re supposed to love everyone)). Annnnnnd why are you all not boycotting Madonna, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, pretty much alllllll rappers, etc. Are you also going to start saying art showing nudity is against the Bible? You all need prayer. I will pray for all of you hateful, judgmental, and not really Christ-like followers who are obviously filled with hate and nonacceptance.

  • Everyone, its great that we notice how straight forward gaga’s perversity is. And its great that this message is out to raise awareness. But it is most important that we each have our growth with Christ so that our eyes will be open to things that arent as straight forward! How many border-line bands are out there that we all listen to because they don’t have such a sick message? Submit yourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. We can see the evil spirit of gaga’s message, but can we see the spirits who seem like angels creeping in? I think its important we keep our eyes open to that as well.

  • If you love Lady Gaga, then you will tell her she is doing wrong:

Pro 27:5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.

A spiritual person judgeth ALL THINGS:

1Co 2:15: But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

  • Teens now a days r having sex she wore a condom to have safe sex this generation is sinking away from premarital sex & that has nothing to do with gaga all of these supposed “facts” are wrong she believes in Jesus as much as u do she always thanks Jesus and she supports gays because christians now a days always bash them many people are bullied because of Christians mainly too she’s saying her Jesus and God loves everyone and he loves everyone the way they are she is more helping the bullied than y’all are and she believes in God as much as I and other people do stop bashing people cuz they’re famous and thank God that they help people from committing suicide and instead & if they r wrong leave it to God to judge them not you but God only knows that she’s wrong or right!

  • This is absolutely about sin. It’s because of our love I would give her the (true) gospel and not a stone (to her head).

You’ve taken this scripture out of context w/a version of the Bible that’s a paraphrase (I do like ‘The Message’ though).

Romans 14 is about personal convictions. This verse you’ve quoted in particular is saying don’t make your walk so rigorous that even you can’t follow it. It has nothing to do with love or sin. Not sure how this scripture has anything to do with what you’re trying to convey. Unless what you’re trying to say is that we shouldn’t call sin as sin which the Bible clearly defines. What gaga promotes is sin defined by God – not whether I should eat meat, vegetables, worship on a Saturday or a Sunday as chapter 14 of Romans deals with.

Fornication, homosexuality and whatever else gaga partakes in isn’t open for debate. It’s sin. And unrepented sin coupled with rejection of Jesus Christ will send you to hell. This isn’t my opinion or me “judging”. It’s the Word of God, now judge yourself and see where you measure up.

  • Wow! I discerned this and knew I didn’t want especially my young children hearing this music. We don’t listen to the secular radio stations for this reason. Being that I have been called to minister in my song, I def understand what this article is revealing! Thank you so much!

  • Wow, there’s more comments defending her than calling her actions as sin.

My heart breaks. This is just like the Bible says that we will begin calling wrong as right and right as wrong.

No one said anything about hating anyone, but do you know the Bible says that God hates you if you sin? Psalms 5:5 says “The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity.”

God hates sin. We’re so complacent that my spirit is greived.

  • Listening to what someone is saying plainly in the lyrics of the song and pointing out that it directly contradicts the Word of God is not hating a person. It brakes my heart that my generation is under the belief that standing for the truth of Gods Word is considered hate. We as a generation are being force fed apathy and compromise under the misnomer of tolerance.

  • Wow!!! Way to go! This is a great article and just reinforces all the myriad reasons why I will never listen to “Lady” Gaga and especially will never, NEVER let my children listen to her!

  • I know for a fact that she skinned a cat alive while chanting incantations to the gay deity Cher. I’ve heard that in her spare time, she channels the spirit of Jezebel and roams the land, hunting for wayward children she can convert to her gay orgy cult, where she then sacrifices them to her patron demon, Éøtés. We need to stop this monster before she hurts anyone else.

  • Thank you for all the feedback!

One note… This article is not a judgmental piece on Stefani Germanotta (be careful with the lens you read the blog… and take note of what you are quick to defend, it speaks volumes of what is in your heart).

This is a call for discernment in what you choose to entertain yourself with. You and I live in a spiritual world more than we realize. You summon what you serenade. My “Getting Stronger” article is a good read for this.

If it touches a nerve, ask yourself why? After all, a doctor has to figure out where the pain is first to help.

Keep the comments coming and once again.. Thank you

  • People, we should love the person, but not their sin. The Bible says that when we become born again through Jesus that we put away our old nature and become like Christ wants us to. Gaga needs prayer. If you are ok with standing up for wrong than you need a heart check as well. You don’t have to hate Gaga, but you should hate sin. And friends, this is sin. Open sexuality is clearly spoken against of in the Bible, homosexuality is too. If you want to show love torwards homosexuals tell them what the Bible says. This dosent mean you have to yell or be mean, it means standing up for truth. Reality is, there will come a day, when we are called out of this earth and those who have not accepted Christ as their Savior and repented of their sins will go to hell. If you are a believer then you shouldnt promote nor stand up for things of this world. You should speak truth in love and never be ashamed od God’s word. BE CAREFUL friends, just like Gaga, you might lead someone astray. Blessings everyone.

  • This is a very good article! This needs to be told to so many young people. They look to who has money and she def has that in her reach. I pray our teens do NOT follow her! There is so much they do not know. I also pray God gives the kids wisdom and an open heart to change they way they are going. I pray they find out the truth!

  • You people are stupid. Didn’t you learn that the bible is crap when your date of rapture passed without instance. Come on… I believe in god, and try to do what is right, but you religious nut jobs have no idea what your doing. You blindly follow what someone tells you the words in the bible really mean… Homosexuals don’t hut anyone. Sex doesn’t kill anyone. Rebellion is the only way to keep someone in lower from ruling… Your all morons!

  • Good article. Thanks for your courage to tell the truth in love. I certainly don’t see it any other way.

  • @Not stupid, which “god” do you believe in?

    Homosexuality is a sin:

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Homosexuality defiles an entire nation, especially open homosexuality.

  • I find it so funny all the ppl who are jumping to “defend” gaga & her ‘rights’ to do what she does…especially the ones who are calling themselves christian & are throwing out scripture. The Bible also says John 17 Be in the world but not Of the world. & Rom 12:2 says Don’t be like the ppl of this world. Just like she is able to get up & express her love for Judas, this blog is Daniel Norris expressing the potential bad influence she could have on young minds. Also, the Bible says Phil 4:8 what things are PURE HONORABLE RIGHT LOVELY & TRUE we’re commanded to THINK on these things. Mr Norris is simply pointing out how UNpure UNhonorable UNright UNlovely & UNtrue most of her music is. I find it when ppl most get their feathers ruffled, is when there’s been a chord struck…if you all REALLY believed everything gaga does is gravy, why do you jump to defend her on this tiny blog? Why did you even take time to read it?
Just like you are all saying, let her do it…all have sinned. True, but Jesus said once we’ve learned of our faults, we are to go & strive to sin no more. Each song is more & more ‘on edge’ & that’s why alot of you like her. This blog has no power to take her off the radio (UNFORTUNATELY) so, I think, take a chill pill. Just dont read it if it’s going to upset you so much….again, why is it so upsetting? Because you feel deep down there’s some truth??
She does what she wants, Mr Norris can say what he wants. America, freedom of Speech & all that 🙂
I’m going to give this blog to EACH girl in our youth group. They need to see black from white & know she isn’t what needs to be jammin on their iPods & her stances on homosexuality or heterosexuality or religion or life isn’t what they need in their minds either!!! Thanks for this!!
Deep down she’s a very sad & broken & empty individual that DOES need love truth & Jesus Christ, but supporting her or her music is not “letting our light shine” @Daniel Norris check this video of gaga out, she should be jumping around ecstatic, she’s about to perform Madison Square…that’s every performers peak right?? Very sad.

  • @NotStupid: “Homosexuality doesn’t hurt anyone. Sex doesn’t kill anyone.”

Tell that to the millions of people that have died from AIDS. The millions of people that HIV/AIDS globally. Women that have died from cervical cancer due to complications from HPV & centuries of deaths from STD’s that had no cure in their time.

Also, I know you’re not going to be able to separate this in your mind, but there’s a difference between us on here talking about sin and those that “drank the Kool-Aid” as with Camping’s followers.

There’s extremist in every group that makes others look bad: sorta’ how you said that you believe in god and do what’s right, but homosexuality and sex out of marriage is OK. – I hope you don’t profess Christ. Smh.

  • You people realize the bible was written by man right? It was written by men, the way they wanted, the way they saw fit. They were no nobler than I.

  • @Not stupid

The entire thing was written by men who were inspired by God, who saw God, and who wrote down things God physically told them to write and what God physically said here on earth:

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

  • Thanks for your well written article. Lady Gaga is very disturbing and you helped me understand why more clearly.

  • @Not stupid

I would also like to add the holy scriptures contained in the Bible will cause you to be wise and saved through faith in Christ Jesus.

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Study it and you will find that it is all true. It doesn’t matter how smart, famous, rich, beautiful, etc you are because if you are not saved, then you have failed and have accomplished nothing.

  • @NotStupid: just to piggy-back what Bruce just said, books written by “man” inspired by “man” tend to lose their relevance as enough time passes. Take even Darwin and his theories and writings; he said many things that were not politically correct according to today’s standards and therefore evolutionists have to sort of pick-and-choose what is still relevant to today and expound or come up w/new theories for those things aren’t.

Not the Bible! It’s still as fresh and as relevant today as it was when it was written 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 & over 6,000 years ago.

Another thing about the Bible, the word “bible” comes from another word that means “books”. The Bible is actually a book of books. These books were written over thousands of years apart by over 40+ different authors, many whom have never read each other’s work – 66 books in all. These authors come from all walks of life: some were liberator’s, kings, shepherds, fisherman & even an ex-murderer. Here’s the amazing thing though: not once do any of these books or authors contradict each other. That in of itself is a miracle.

  • And adding to what Bruce stated. The Bible was written by a myriad of different people with various occupations (yes, written by men but inspired by the Holy Spirit). In addition, the odds of this compilation of books written by various men of diverse background, being cogent and coherent are extremely remote if not impossible.

Jesus also quoted the written scriptures giving even more credence to the veracity of the Bible. So anyone who believes in Jesus (the Son of God and God himself, since he stated that himself) has to believe that the Bible is inspired and not simply written by men. In fact, if you had to put 10 books together on a given subject written by mere men, I doubt that it would be remotely as coherent as the Bible, this attesting to the supernatural nature of this book.

If you don’t believe that Jesus is God, then this entire topic is moot. I’d also like to add that there are hundreds of bible prophecies that have been fulfilled not vaguely (as Nostradamus), but very specifically. (Don’t take my word for it, search yourselves.) Again, the odds of these being fulfilled in Jesus alone is virtually mathematically impossible.

The veracity and validity of the scriptures is another topic entirely, which i’m sure has been covered extensively and accurately.

As far as Lady Gaga is concerned, I thank the brother for posting the information. As a mother and grandmother, it opened my eyes. I also viewed the video that someone posted. My heart really aches for her. I have no idea who she was praying for or calling Lord because to me it is impossible to follow the God of the Bible and hold the views she does; it would be cognitive dissonant do so.

    ‘Nuff said.

  • Well written article!! I have never liked Lady GaGa, her lyrics never settled in my spirit. Thank you for exposing the sin as it is! Can’t wait to share this with the my friends!!! Thank You for letting God use you!! God Bless

  • Wow, I watched that video that Brook posted. That was Stefani, not Gaga. We saw into her struggles and such deep insecurites, So sad. I guess she grew up in a Catholic environment which is where she gets her religious content to her music.
When you see her stripped bare like that it gives an insight into why she allows the spiritual conterfeit to take her over so fully. It gives her self worth and a strength that is not within her natural grasp. Imagine if she truly knew God, the witness to truth she would become. We so need to intercede for her salvation.
Stefani is a lost soul crying out to be set free, and Gaga takes over as she attempts to find her freedom – in all the wrong places.
She is still praying for help, even if it’s not as we would, she still has a God consiousness, let’s pray for open ears that she will hear the still small voice calling her back to him. Let’s pray that any abuse as a child will be healed. Let’s pray that the spirit of Jezebel will be bound and broken off her life and she’ll have her eyes open to the truth.
It’s never too late for her. It’s never too late.

  • I think the most amazing thing about the Bible is that is was written by men, no nobler than you or I..written decades & some scores of years apart fro
Each other, in different languages & dialects, Paul was imprisoned & John was in exile, an island all alone, yet so much of the entire Bible reflects upon each other & in some cases exactly the same quotes. Simple non-noble men could NOT do that w/o some Divine interference…

  • Well let me tell you a short story, in church, when I was still in church, I had the worst life I felt sad angry and stupid all the time but the worst part was I felt like a giant sin just walking around.
You wanne save more ppl? Then figure out a way to do so without making ppl feel like crap all the time, then maybe you’ll have an army like gaga.
She relates to us and call her whatever you like you may even have millions of demon names for her but she makes me happy and strong I for one would believe in her even if that gets me a VIP ticket straight to hell, I don’t care!
Oh and one last thing, if you don’t like what your hearing here or in her music I qaute gaga and “wear an ear condom”

  • Daniel Norris you are so right and I appreciate the love you have for us all, that you would take the time to write this and really make things so crystal clear.
Just a thought…it took a eunich to throw down Jezebel.

  • @jonb I’m sorry that was your experience. Jesus said that I have come that you might have life in all it’s fullness. I’m praying that you find that full life. Religion often robs up of that… sounds like that was your experience. The answer is Jesus, not church, not music, not people… Just Jesus.

  • Wow! Just saw a small war unfold over this article. After all that this world has been through, it seems that people, religions, and lifestyles will never be agreed upon. Will we never learn our lesson?

  • she akso promotes tolerance for young people in todays world she promotes safe sex who also judas who a metaphore for ex boyfriend the song itself nothing to do with religion like alll of her song. sometimes you look into much to what isnt there. you can interpret anything however you and thats you as a person. let the individual people decide what they think its not up too you. all of what you said are anything but facts but theories. i dont care much for her music but i apperciate her promoting tolerance and acceptance for what is different from the norm. let individual person find they’re own meaning of lyrics

  • @jonb, I had a story like that too. I think most of us have. Sin is a weight that sucks the life out of us. But condemnation that beats us down is very different from Godly conviction that draws us to repentance.

I’m sorry no one helped you. No one helped me, either. Alone in my car, chain smoking and listening to depressing music I told God, I don’t know who you are. I don’t know if Jesus is real, but I want to know the truth. What is true?

    And He showed me.

Its not about religion or adherence to rules to try to appease an angry distant deity that would as soon smite you as look at you. Its about a loving father that wants His children to come home, so He sent His son to bring us back. The story is all laid out in the Bible, and its a story that resonates in every culture because it is the very core of what we are.

“There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus.” It wasn’t supposed to be that way then, and it doesn’t have to be that way now.

  • Truth is, the word of God says “people will perish for the lack of knowledge” inluding us and the Great Gaga! Entertaiment Diet is crucial for us and our children….I’m on it!! Thank you for this article!!

  • Wasn’t it obvious that someone like Lady Gaga would have come out in the long run? It’s like you all didn’t notice someone like this was going to happen. With all this media junk promoting SEX everyday, it was bound to happen.

We are living in a sexually perverted generation. It very well said in Revelations of which you all read.

That means people in the 1400’s, 1500’s new very well the future was going to be SEXUALLY PERVERSE.

It was something bound to happen. And we are here. pray. pray. pray and let not your souls be overtaken from so many sexual demons that attack you everyday.

A person who is christian or not is likely to be sexually poisoned in this generation. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE not to be sexually poisoned unless if you’re some monk who is shunned from society.

  • “Note: I am writing this not to call for a christian boycott, or some anti-gaga movement”

    — you just want someone to do it for you, huh?
or, maybe you just don’t want to stop bumping lady gaga in the car?

Last time I checked, Jesus is pretty influential too. So, next time you get all paranoid, have faith in your own religion before you make our religion (Christianity) look like a bunch of insecure finger pointers.
Jesus loved the prositutes, the sexual deviants, and Judas.

    Music is art.
    You take what you take.
I’m more offended by paintings that portray a white Jesus.

There’s no reason to waste one’s time writing these kind of articles.

Use your time to love God and love people.

  • It’s amazing that the same Jesus that said “I didn’t come to bring peace, but a sword” is now somehow the poster boy of tolerance

Everyone loves the lamb, nobody likes the lion.

  • @crystal

“she akso promotes tolerance for young people in todays world she promotes safe sex”

Fornication is NEVER safe. Abstinence is:

Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

“who also judas who a metaphore for ex boyfriend the song itself nothing to do with religion like alll of her song.”

Lady Gaga’s song ‘Judas’ is full of religious and spiritual background:

    “In the most Biblical sense,
    I am beyond repentance”

Is Biblical not refering to Christianity?

    “Jesus is my virtue,
Judas is the demon I cling to”

Is Jesus not refering to Christianity? What about Jesus’ betrayer Judas?

It’s a shame that she would use verses like these in her songs.

And, did you hear Lady Gaga’s prayer? In her prayer, she told her “god” that she worships her fans.

Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

    Lady Gaga needs help

sometimes you look into much to what isnt there. you can interpret anything however you and thats you as a person. let the individual people decide what they think its not up too you. all of what you said are anything but facts but theories. i dont care much for her music but i apperciate her promoting tolerance and acceptance for what is different from the norm. let individual person find they’re own meaning of lyrics

  • @crystal

“sometimes you look into much to what isnt there. you can interpret anything however you and thats you as a person. let the individual people decide what they think its not up too you. all of what you said are anything but facts but theories. i dont care much for her music but i apperciate her promoting tolerance and acceptance for what is different from the norm. let individual person find they’re own meaning of lyrics”

I missed commenting on this. There is ALWAYS a CORRECT interpretation. Private interpretations will ALWAYS get you into trouble, keep you confused, and prevent you from knowing the truth. The same is true especially for the Bible:

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

  • I agree, to a certain extent. Yes we need to be mindful of what we allow into our lives. Yes we need to realize that words and words put to music are a much more powerful influence to our spirit and soul than we realize. And although I do not agree with Lady Gaga’s message, nor do I listen to her music, I must remind myself: Is Lady Gaga not also one of God’s lovely creations, just as I am? The truth is, regardless of what her message is or the way she dresses or speaks, the Lord still deeply loves her and craves a relationship with her. I think all too often the church is more willing to point a finger at society and blame world icons for some of the problems of this world, rather than looking first at our own lives and realizing that we have our own corrupt issues as well. Issues that can only be corrected through Christ’s love. The only difference is, that Lady Gaga is not ashamed to speak openly about who she is and what she believes. Which is why I think people follow her as much as they do. I wonder how many God fearing people have met her and have had a chance to show her the love of Christ, but chose not to because they couldn’t look past her penis shaped shoes. No Christ does not leave us as we are, thank God. Through his love we are able to become more like Him in His image. But, Christ does love us as we are. And He loves Lady Gaga as she is. Could she be a better version of what Christ had intended for her? Of course. But even if she never knows the love of Jesus, He will still love her. He will still create opportunities for her to know Him. Our job, I think, is to pray for her salvation rather than point a finger at her. How sad that all we see are her costumes and make up, rather than looking at her with the eyes of Christ. I pray I do .not raise my future children to judge people so harshly, when it is not their position to begin with.

  • Thanks Daniel for your boldness!!! May the Lord continue to open our eyes and let the truth stand.

  • We as Christians need to be aware and not bury our heads in the sand. We need to make a difference in our community again and not igore the serious changes such as this one.

  • @ Ann

No offense, but did you actually read this article? The author has done a great job of none writing completely from a biblical perspective. Speaking specifically to CHRISTIANS. He has directed all blame properly.

Your idea or view of judging is also completely un-biblical. When you show someone the error of their ways using GOD’s word you aren’t doing the judging.

When did we stop guarding our hearts as it says in Proverbs? The fact that this is non-judgmental yet “christians” still are making comments like yours goes to show how far from biblical teaching we have drifted. I do pray for Gaga’s salvation, however I don’t pray for anymore than thousands of fans that are being lead astray. Intentionally or otherwise.

  • Thank you Daniel! Hey everyone, I am the first one to cast judgement! 1 Corinthians 5!

  • it all goes back to Adam and Eve. If they didn’t sin we wouldn’t be here in this mess of a generation now would we? Sin breeds sin and it won’t stop until Christ comes.

  • @James

That’s the oldest one in the book. My God doesn’t force anyone to do anything He let’s you decide what path you want. So what makes you think that if they didn’t fall away from God you or someone else wouldn’t have??

  • All you “Christians” are a joke! Christians are the MOST judgmental people I have ever met in my life!!

  • Carrie – sorry, will you forgive us.
Unfortunately we are still frail humans and we do tend to make mistakes.
Again, sorry, I for one will try harder in the future.

  • Gaga represents loving who you are, standing up for what you believe in & equality for all. Clearly, it doesn’t seem like she’s promoting sin to me. To believe she is/does is utterly PATHETIC.

It’s distorted thinking & close-minded comments like some posted here which make the word of Gaga the word I want to hear! Simply put: it’s fresh, positive in nature & untainted.

  • Daniel, this is a very well thought out and astute post. Before I was saved about three years ago, Lady Gaga would have intrigued me and I would have bought all her CDs. Truth is, because I was not a Christian for most of my life, I can see what she is doing better than perhaps some cannot. She is clearly promoting love of self.

2 Timothy 3:2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy…..

Don’t you all see all of the above as exactly what Lady Gaga is and what she promotes??

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

As Christians we are not to conform to this world. Lady Gaga is definitely OF this world. Because we are to judge others by their fruits, so that we may know them, judging by the rotten fruit that Lady Gaga is producing, we need to stay clear of listening to her and supporting her.

We should pray for her that she would open her eyes and come to know Jesus and repent and use that beautiful voice to glorify God rather than satan.

    God bless you all.
    Wynter

  • Christian moms, you have a huge influence in your children’s lives. Whether you agree with Lady Gaga’s music or not, whether you agree with Daniel Norris (who wrote this post) or not, share this post. Ask yourself these questions: Is this music lovely? Is it pure? Is it true? Noble? Right? Admirable? Praiseworthy? If not then DO NOT allow your children to listen to it. Read the lyrics together. Listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who indwells every believer.

  • Thank you Paige for such a profound truth. Just this morning my 15 year old daughter and I had a discussion on this generation and the music. She read this (what you posted) with me. She has excepted Christ as her Lord and this morning she was having time with him and he spoke to her heart. Thank you for allowing God to speak through you to share this message.

    Earlene

  • I’m gonna stay out of the debates, but thank you for this article. I choose not to listen to her, mainly because it’s so easy for the catchy beats (and provocative lyrics) to get stuck in your head. 🙂

  • Lady Gaga promotes love. She promotes acceptance of oneself, whether or not one’s Christian acquaintances give the same consideration. She promotes love towards EVERYONE, which is the opposite of a Christian attitude, admittedly. She stands up against homophobia and hate. For those believers who hate her message, just think for a minute about youngs lives she’s saving. In a time when the suicide rate is off the charts among gay teenagers, “Born This Way” is exactly what we need. It preaches that no matter how you were born, even if it was loving the same sex, you are worthwhile. You are deserving of love.

I was raised in a Christian home, and I felt nothing but hate and judgment from my church, my Christian peers, and on occasion from my parents for aspects of myself that I have no control over. If listening to Lady Gaga can help one teenager through the agony the church inflicted on me, I will support her fully.

You’re right. Lady Gaga is permeating this generation’s worldview, and thank god for that. The world will be a better place for it.

  • Wow!! DK! Shake a tree and see what runs out! Great article, nicely put and right to the point, (or heart). Let me throw this thought out…

Jimmy Hendrix once said, “I can explain everything better through music. YOU HYPNOTIZE PEOPLE… And when you get people at their weakest point you can preach into the subconscious what we want to say. That’s why the name “electric church’ flashes in and out.”

Just a thought for all to remember when listening to music. Always ask yourself, “is this really what I’m about and will it help me to glorify God (Jseus) in my life.

Much love to ya, your cadre bro!

  • @Robert

Lady Gaga is promoting homosexuality which is a sin:

Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

  • I am amazed how an article on Lady Gaga’s music turned out to be an open letter against gay love.

I hope Sam’s reflection will open up your souls and hearts.

  • The wrong kind of music does corrupt people. People corrupt music, then music corrupts people, and then you have this vicious cycle, and it just continues on and on. My husband, Vito Rallo, wrote a whole chapter on this concept in his book, Breaking Generational Curses & Pulling Down Strongholds. It was a shame that American Idol chose to have her on the show and have her “coach” the finalists. She is disgusting because she is so demonically inspired. And those who listen to her music, sing along, and allow themselves to be seduced by her lyrics will find themselves to be influenced by the same kind of evil spirits that influence her to do what she does.

  • @Sam & Laura: don’t even try to deflect or steer this ship somewhere that it wasn’t going.

This has nothing to do w/gay “bashing” or “homophobia” or hate.

I don’t care if you’re into homosexuality, you’re straight and fornicate or married and an adulterer: it’s all sin that will seperate you from the presence of God.

NO ONE on here has said anything about gaga personally; the things that she promotes in her music is sin DEFINED BY GOD. God has judged it as sin, not man judging it. Now judge yourself according to God’s Word and see where you measure up.

They say that children born to alcoholics are born w/an “alchy” (spelling?) gene; they are, virtually, born as alcoholics – they are BORN THIS WAY, BUT it’s their decision to drink.

Are homosexuals “born that way”? Sure. Why not. The Bible says we’re all born into sin. But, it’s our choice to sin. Scientists try to prove that men aren’t born monogamous – that I’m born to want to try to bed as many women as possible, but it’s my choice to live monogamous and discipline my sexual appetite by God’s grace and honor my marriage and my wife.

  • 1 Cor. 6:9-10.
9Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in HOMOSEXUALITY,

10Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

    TIME TO MAKE IT PLAIN!!

  • Thank you for writing this article. It is so important to be bold and to speak the truth in love. I feel that this article does that. Sin is sin…..you can’t escape this truth. I truly pray that this young lady would be saved and set free from all the lies and bondges that have entangled her. I pray that this generation would rise up and be the people that God has called them to be. I pray that revival and transformation would sweep the globe….it is time to rise up and Be the Church….Holiness and Righteousness need to sweep our land….Church wake up and sound the alarm….

  • @Not Stupid, first of all, Harold Camping (the man who claimed he figured out the day of the Rapture), was VERY wrong to say that. The Bible tells us that NO ONE, not even the Angels or Jesus Himself knows the day or hour of Jesus’ Return, only God the Father knows this. In other words, what we learned from Harold Campings prediction is that God was telling the Truth as He always does, NO ONE will know the day and hour of His return.

Next thing, the Bible is the INSPIRED Word Of God, written by men who were TOLD by God what to write. The Bible has been around for thousands of years and we still follow it today. A mere book by man does not last that long or have so huge a following.

You say that sex never killed anyone, but yes it has, it’s killed many people with diseases like AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

You say homosexuality never hurt anyone, but yes it has. It’s hurt the people who hate being homosexual, it’s hurt the many people who have died of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. God said that homosexuality is an abomination. God loves the sinner but hates the sin. This means He loves the gay person, but he hates what they are doing. Just like He loves you, “Not stupid”, but He does not like some of the things you do, He loves me but does not like some of the things I do. None of us are perfect, but homosexuality is a SIN and the sinner needs to stop sinning and repent and ask God to forgive them.

Remember what Daniel said in his reply to his own post, he is not judging Lady Gaga, the person, but warning Christians that we reap what we sow. If we listen to the the evil that emanates from Lady Gaga’s music, we become tainted with sin. We pray that Lady Gaga and others like her will see the error of their ways and repent before a Holy God who will save them from the pits of hell, just like He has done for so many of us.

You say that you believe in God, that’s wonderful, but do you realize that just believing in God won’t get you into Heaven? You must sincerely ask God for forgive you of your sins, confess your sins to God, talk to you (pray), tell Him you are sorry for the sinful things you have done, that you love Him and that you are grateful that He died for your sins. You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross and rose again 3 days later. If you said this prayer to God in all sincerity, He will forgive you. From then on, you need to try your very best to stop sinning. We all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, but we need to try our best not to. If we do slip up, ask God to forgive you. Then repent of your ways, meaning stop doing what you know is wrong and what God has told us is wrong in the Ten Commandments.

I pray for you, “Not stupid” and I hope you will come to know Jesus before it’s too late. God bless!!

  • I really feel sorry for those who fall into the idiotic thoughts that waver around this earth.

Shouldn’t you be worried about more important things instead of Lady GaGa corrupting the world with her lyrics and sexuality??

I am Definitley GaGa for Gaga!

And am even more GAG-GAG over this blog! Seriously disturbing!

  • This I so stupid , don’t judge people that’s gods job, and I hqte people that over study crap and find someway to connect it to the bible, if u or ur kids listen to.this well to each yheir own, its not like these fake ass christian singers who sing glory and in real life are bigger douches than per.say gaga

  • Hi Daniel –
As I said i really appreciate your post. How about something on “judging”? It seems that the first reaction to pointing out sin is offense followed by the “you are being judgmental” trump card. This seems to be a conversation stopper for some, although happily it has not been the case on this post.

It was similar during the times Jesus walked the earth. Jesus pointed the sin of the Pharisees and they tore their clothes in anger. On the other hand he was merciful to those repentant sinners who put all pride aside and admitted their sin and need of a Savior.

We all have sinned, the scriptures state, and come short of the glory of God (or God’s perfection). All of us miss the mark. It would be so easy to come to Jesus and admit, “I’m a sinner” and not take offense, only come as a needy human being in need of mercy and Grace.

To everyone who is offended when sin is pointed out or brought to light. Someday you will be face to face with a perfect and just God and he is going to want to know why you could not admit your sinful nature and just accept his free gift. His Grace is sufficiently capable of “covering” all your sin, no matter how big or how small.

I don’t mind if you call me hypocrite because in all reality we all are. We all sin and fall short of God’s best. The only difference between you and me is that I have admitted my sin. Everyday I struggle with my human nature. As Paul put it, “the thing I want to do I don’t do and the thing I don’t want to do, I do (paraphrasing)…oh wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of death…Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! ”

So simple, yet so hard. Why? Because of human pride.

  • Thanks, Pastor Daniel! Interestingly Starbucks gave a Gaga cd to their employees this week and they are carrying them in their stores….love you sooooo much!

  • Daniel,

Thanks for standing up and representing Christ well. I look forward to spending all eternity with you & your wife in Heaven. Come quickly Lord Jesus!

    Kim

  • I love how everyone that is spitting fire about all the “hate” in this article, can’t seem to spell, use proper grammar, or manage to read the Bible in CONTEXT! LOL! If you’re gonna argue about the semantics of what someone is saying, the least you can do is spell the words right and actually read the WHOLE passage of what you’re talking about before you go spouting it off! Also, for the record, you should have read the beginning of the article as well! The man specifically said that he’s not wanting a boycott, or a bashing session! All he wanted to do was make people think about what they’re putting into their minds! If you think there’s something wrong with that, maybe you shouldn’t be commenting on here or reading this article to begin with!

  • Helen, I love your response & agree. We are all sinners in need of God’s saving grace.
I’ve read & re-read this article and I don’t see at all where Daniel is hating Gaga or bashing people. I found myself challenged to take a stand and share this on my fb wall, even knowing it would cause controversy…but, that’s ok.
What saddens me most are the comments of “Christians” saying we need to tolerate & accept. You know, Jesus Christ never came to ‘accept’ our sin & ‘tolerate’ our dying in darkness. He LOVED us so much that He HAD to point out the sin!
If your spouse sees a deadly leech on you, do they just tolerate it? NO! If they love you, your spouse will do everything to pull that thing off. It’ll hurt like heck. But it needs to be done…

  • What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. As it is written:
“ There is none righteous, no, not one, There is none who understands,There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.”for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3

Satan cannot be ‘saved’ lady Gaga can and I pray Lord that your would bring her to repentance that she may know her true identity is not in sexuality but in you!

  • When all passes away God’s word will stand. In the end truth will have to be faced. Thank God for his truth that sets (all who want it)us free. God is not arguing over truth because he is the truth the way and the life. All who have repented and given theirs lives to him are free in deed. Thank God for helping those who are his stand for truth. Without God we can do nothing. In the end who’s side you’ve chosen will determine all. Thanks Daniel.

  • Truth is she has over 10,000,000 fans DEVOTED to her. And will stay devoted to her, till the end of her career, which very well may be till the end of her life.

I don’t think your changing anything in her career with this post.

I don’t think you’ll ever take lady gaga out of the music world, so… Just stop listening to her music, and pay no attention to her.

I’m not a fan of hers, but as a music business graduate from Berklee. I highly respect her talent and success. And lets be honest… All of you cute little christians would dance if Just Dance came on 🙂

  • I think it is ironic people commenting on this article calling it judgemental without even reading it and not realizing they are judgemental. It is really disturbing to see christians saying we should accept and tolerate sin.We need to call sin what it is even ours.God help us all

  • @Nike
I agree w/ you. The trouble is, IMHO, that some people believe they are Christians because they go to church or maybe some day they prayed “the sinners prayer.” Another problem is lack of discipleship. This is specially true of the younger generation. They might have been born again but “youth programs” have failed to disciple them in the Word. As a result their knowledge of the Bible is shallow. The young generation (20s thru early 30s) is very tolerant of sin because they are not deeply rooted in the word of God. This is tragic and I have seen it in my own family. We parents (myself included) have failed our children because for too long we have relied on youth programs to disciple our children when we that was our responsibility.

I will probably take a lot of heat from “the Church” for saying this but sadly it is what it is. We can’t expect people to be convicted when they don’t have any deep roots of the knowledge of the word of God.

  • @ChadLee

“Truth is she has over 10,000,000 fans DEVOTED to her. And will stay devoted to her, till the end of her career, which very well may be till the end of her life.”

This isn’t Truth? Truth is this is an arbitrary number you’ve pulled out of thin air. ‘Til the end of her life.’ I don’t think so. As soon as Lady Gaga loses her momentum and disappears from the radio her “fans” will have forgotten about her and moved on to the next “superstar”.

  • @Helene
I totally agree. I’ve been in full time youth ministry for awhile now, and I see the open back door.
We’ve been a programed, seeker service, media driven gospel, AND, we wonder why youth don’t believe in the gospel that we preach. Anytime the gospel you preach lacks power and doesn’t line up with the gospel in the bible, you are on your way to losing a culture. I’m very thankful for guys like Daniel, who preach, reveal and move in the power of God. It is time we, stop talking about it, and begin moving in it!

  • I LOVE this post..its just so sad that so many people are getting upset by this! it’s nothing more than the truth!! He was stating facts, as many of you are stating opinions. He NEVER said he hates her, so idk where this is coming from. He wrote this as a warning, and to inform people…Its sickening to know that soooo many people are deceived by her. (spirit of jezebel) . i pray that all of you who are bashing Daniel and “christians” will be awakened to the truth and realize whats real, and what is not. . .

  • Anytime satan is exposed, there will be an uproar. Jezebel had her prophets of her time, and Gaga has her followers. I believe this started with Madonna, it seemed to shift to Britney Spears on some level, but truly Gaga has really embodied what Madonna started years ago. Gaga is taking it to the next level of perversion and evil. If you read Revelation 17-18 Jezebel (whore of Babylon) rises to power. We are living in that time, and Gaga is just one of many that are her willing puppets. I couldn’t agree more with this article. This is an interesting expose on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e10Wv373uKA

  • It is a sad time in our world when children can be exposed to a thorough lack of sgirit-guarding and wisdom. I myself cannot pass judgement as no one on this blog can. Judgement is from God, however restating what God has already said is not the same thing. This does not mean that as soon as I see something wrong I should point my finger and say God said you’re a sinner. I am a sinner saved by grace. I am no better than anyone on this blog and will not pretend to be so. Instead of pointing fingers(as some have) I should fast and pray for her, while showing the Love of Jesus to her through my own life (as has already been stated as well). Should Christians be judgemental of people; absolutely not. Should Christians use discernment in what is Godly and what is not; absolutely. It is not anyones job to beat you over the head and command you to believe in Jesus, however we have a responsibility to share the Word of God in a spirit of love to those who need to hear it. This blog has been littered with comments from Christians that have not been written in love and only a handful that have. Christians I urge you to show more love in your speach while speaking to those who have not yet come to the full knowledge that Jesus is Lord. For those of you who believe that Christians are hypocrites and cult-followers, I pray that even if only once, you would meet a true follower of Jesus Christ. It is true that there are many hypocrites and judgemental people out there, but that does not mean that we are all without the true love of Jesus in our hearts having full compassion for others. May God bless and keep you and bring wisdom and understanding to both Christian and non-Christian alike, In Jesus name.

  • @chewy777: I’m so tired of you religious cowards. Who here has “not written in love”? Please show me.

Have you read I Corinthians 5:9-13? Please do so. Matter-of-fact, here it is:

9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; 10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler–not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.

You’re first four sentences are complete religious fodder. This is a Christian blog written to Christian’s. Thank God. Chew on that, chewy.

Do you believe that the same God Who was so passionate about redeeming His people that He would pay for their salvation with blood has now turned a blind eye towards sin – and we are to do the same?

I know, I know, I know you didn’t directly say that we should tolerate sin, but I’m reading between the lines. I know what all that gibberish about “bashing”, “finger-pointing”, “true love” is code for: weak, tolerant to sin Christianity.

Grow a pair and stand up for righteousness. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

Really, how much “fasting and praying” will you really do for this girl (please don’t actually answer)?

  • Jon you obviously have some thorn that is causing irrational behavior. I can see by the term “religious cowards” that your definition of love is quite different than mine. The passage that you just pulled out of Corinthians, verse 10, very clearly states that he is not speaking about people in the world, rather he is speaking to those in the church that claim to be Christians with their tongues and do not live the same lifestyle. As for my first few sentences being “fodder”, I am a bit curious to your reference. Which sentence? Is it the sentence that states that our children should be protected from the world, or perhaps the sentence that states God is the only judge and I have no right to judge a person only their sin? Perhaps it is the sentence about pointing fingers which is quite parallel to the story of a Pharisee that pointed his finger at a sincere sinner and said; God don’t let me be like him. I beleive the next passage will clarify an accusation you made about me: Should Christians be judgemental of people; absolutely not. Should Christians use discernment in what is Godly and what is not; absolutely. It is not anyones job to beat you over the head and command you to believe in Jesus, however we have a responsibility to share the Word of God in a spirit of love to those who need to hear it. You made the assumption that I said we should ignore sin whereas I clearly did not. Furthermore, the phrase stand up and grow a pair is not in any context related to what I said nor is it appropriate for a self-proclaimed Christian to say especially concerning the Word of God. As for the fasting and praying that I do, I would remind you that I am not solely referring to Lady Gaga, but rather anyone who needs Jesus. So my prayers for the lost and dying apply just as much to her as anyone. I will also go so far as to say you have not relayed your feelings in a manner that shines the Love of Jesus. That is where I stand and no not every “Christian” post has been written in love as is apparent by your last post. I would encourage you to think before you speak and know what it is you are speaking about before revealing the lack of wisdom you seem to currently be operating in. To all who read this post let me clarify for the sake of all, that God does not smile on sin, but he does love the person bound by sin. It seems that I need to make that plain for some people. May God bless you all and open our eyes to his love and not man’s condemnation.

  • @chewy777: you’ve obviously originally blogged on here to reprimand those that have also commented on the original post by Daniel Norris.

Besides me calling your blog (nothing to do with gaga) fodder, where else has people on here not written in love? You still have yet to show me.

Brings me back to what I just said, you came here to reprimand those that have also “seconded” the original post for calling sin as sin.

There are many “christians” on here that say they side with gaga and her “message”. We as believers have the obligation to correct someone’s error.

The one’s that get on here and say we’re just “christian nuts” – well what can I say to them anyway? They’re unbeliever’s. I won’t even merit a response, BUT to those that profess Christ and say that what gaga promotes is legit, well, then, I Cor 5 is very appropriate.

And where are all the people that are getting beat by others in the head? I’ve been walking this way for 20 years: for all the Jehovah’s witnesses that have knocked on my door or tried to hand me a track at a gas station or I see the mormon’s riding around on their bikes I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone witness to me before. It breaks my heart. Christianity is not a religion of tolerance and silence.

Love does not equal silence or tolerance to sin. How else do you tell someone, “dude (or chick), God says that sin will send you to hell.”? It’s because I love you that I’ll tell you that what you’re doing will damn you.

  • First I did not originally post as a reprimand to anyone specifically. I simply made several statements based on observation of prior posts.

Second, this is one of a few posts that fit the criteria of not speaking in love (note: this is for all comments from Christians to both Christian and non alike): By ministry major on May 28th, 2011 at 10:49 am
“Note: I am writing this not to call for a christian boycott, or some anti-gaga movement”

    – you just want someone to do it for you, huh?
or, maybe you just don’t want to stop bumping lady gaga in the car?

Last time I checked, Jesus is pretty influential too. So, next time you get all paranoid, have faith in your own religion before you make our religion (Christianity) look like a bunch of insecure finger pointers.
Jesus loved the prositutes, the sexual deviants, and Judas.

    Music is art.
    You take what you take.
I’m more offended by paintings that portray a white Jesus.

There’s no reason to waste one’s time writing these kind of articles.

Use your time to love God and love people.

I will now use the lines (first line is actually in agreement with what I said) of a post you yourself posted: By J on May 27th, 2011 at 12:38 pm
All of the “devoted” Christians are the first ones to pass judgement.

I never reprimanded anyone for saying sin is sin. As a matter of fact here is a line from my earlier post: God does not smile on sin, but he does love the person bound by sin.

It is true that we have a responsibility to share the Word of God with everyone. This does not mean by condemnation, but in the same manner as Jesus, with Love.

1 Cor 5, is appropriate for righteous judgement among the brethren. However, if it was directed to me as correction then you were completely wrong in the scripture you placed there seeing as you have no reference point to accuse me of being an: immoral person, covetous, an idolater, a reviler, a drunkard, and a swindler. Nor did I make any assumptions as to anyone else being so.

Many have been “beat on the head” apparantly that wrote in this blog. Did you not see the many posts about people raised in church with absolute discontentment?

First telling them that they are in sin without knowing the difference between right and wrong is unwise. It is better to start with the basics of who Jesus is rather than tell them, Jesus is going to send you to hell, but he loves you (that doesn’t often go over well). Jesus doesn’t send anyone to hell, we send ourselves even if we don’t know who Jesus is. Consider Romans 2:26-29. I do understand and agree with telling people about the error of their ways so that they may be turned from their evil ways, but if I have no repore with you would you listen to me, and if I don’t show love with it what good is it to preach? The fact of the matter is if we are to show people their wrong-doings we must first show them the right way so they have a point of comparison. Be blessed and may God use you as your soul desires to follow him.

  • The last post I posted, I ade an error in my proof-reading. Your post should have actually only been the first line, to show that you agreed with the lack of compassion from Christian posts. My apologies.

  • @chewy777: this is a blog, dude – not personal memoirs. Say things to the point and discern from the ones that are flakes posting on here. Someone else posted that they know for a fact that gaga skins cats – u can’t reposnd to everything.

I literally stopped reading your response of you justifying your first post…and second post.

The only thing I care about is you crediting me a post as J on May 27th: you think because my name is Jon and someone posted as “J” we’re the same? Did anything that J post line up with what I posted? “J”‘s post is not mine.

My first post was in response to someone that tried to pull we shouldn’t judge gaga and “casting stones”; go read that and you’ll see where I stand.

  • I made a mistake and saw Jon when in fact it said J on. I did not take the time to notice your first post among all of the others because I was not addressing anyone in particular. It is easy to see that you have things to work out for yourself. This will be my last response to you. God bless.

  • @chewy777:

Right, you didn’t take the time to notice… a person like you gets on here and says this blog is “littered with comments from Christians not written in love and ONLY A HANDFUL THAT HAVE.”

A person like me has been has been on here for a couple of weeks and has to read a post from a person like you that “didn’t take the time to notice.”

    Go hug a tree.

By the way, Paul said has it not been for the law (the ten commandments) I wouldn’t even know that I was a sinner. It’s the law that shows us we’re sinners and in need of a savior.

Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God.

Presenting the law is a great witnessing tool. Check out ‘Way of the Master’.

Also, this is a blog. It’s a hobby. It’s fun. Keep it direct and to the point and I won’t yawn so much reading your incoherent replies.

Chewy, may the force be with you!

  • As Christians we can call sin out as we see it. We are empowered by the holy spirit to expose the devils works. Yes we are all sinners. The difference between gaga and a Christian is that a Christian through the exceptance of Christ as lord we are cleansed and redeemed. Gaga has not excepted Christ and lives contrary to his word. We should not appreciate all music that is a lie. Let’s remember that lucifer when created by god was created. He was created to worship. Music is his biggest weapon and he can empower people to become great and powerful influences through music for his purpose and works. Right not gaga is his vessel of influence. We can judge in accordance to gods word by calling out sin and darkness and exposing it. It is called discerning and we are called to also be watchmen. God loves lady gaga but she rejects his love and chooses to rebel against his kingdom. And god regardless of his love for us must huger sin.

  • I am blown away by this article. I was actually introduced to lady gaga by a Christian friend of mine. I’m planning to repost this on my fb wall, even tho I know i’m going to get a lot of negative feedback about it.

Thank you Daniel Norris for putting it out like it is!!!! This was an awesome article that showed the Biblical side that we all need to turn to!

  • It is difficult to choose the correct words for you(author) seem to be the type of individual who becomes deaf and dumb when something contends your point of view on life. Your perception of the world is narrow and filled a scapegoats to happiness such as Jesus, God, and benign purity. You do make quite accurate observations when you state Gaga has a large following, that she is influential, and that she promotes sexuality. These are all real things. Your entire conclusion and condemnation of Gaga’s , as you would see it perverse ministry, proposes the illusion of saving yourself through an imaginary being, choose this imaginary being over another. Perhaps, her mass is a following of individuals who can open their eyes a little more than you. Perceive love a little more, and ultimately grow a little taller. For they may not resort to fictional characters from fictional books for their views on life. Their self worth could possibly be generated by truths found through life, experiences earned, and suffered through. While the judgements passed by you are meant to entail a subservient attitude promoting shame and humiliation in order to bring about a mass following promoted by fear of doing wrong. Her mass is a promotion of experience, and honesty of these experiences. Life is an experience not servitude. Honest experience thwarts apologetic subservience. I end this with sorrow for you and all those who may follow a religion in order to obtain meaning to their lives.

  • @ Christopher: I believe your head is up your behind.

Gaga is an opportunist. She been pining for stardom all her life and found her niche in shock value.

Do you know that she did an episode of ‘Soprano’s’, ‘The Hills’, and played on a hidden camera show called ‘Boiling Point’ (as the victim of the prank in what she looked very, very normal – almost valley-girl-ish) before becoming ‘Lady Gaga’? Ahhh, such a rebel and revolutionary!

The only fictional character is the one that gaga tries to portray.

It is curious though that when one comes on here to defend her they refer to her as like a movement or a following – seems the only one that is deaf and dumb is the lemmings like you that follow the next pop culture icon over the cliff. Good luck riding this wave. She’ll be overshadowed by the next “thing” that tries to out-do her.

And here’s how I know you have your head so far up you don’t even know which way the wind is blowing anymore: even gaga believes in god (lowercase “g” in this case) and prays to him. Check out the link that Brooke posted on May 27th. She even does the catholic sign of the cross when she says “amen”.

SMH. Sheesh. Go harass someone else.

  • @Jon in New Orleans
    Brilliant!

I haven’t have my first cup of coffee and I’m typing on my bb so I can’t respond properly to Christopher but I will as soon as I wake up.

I’m actually stoked that the atheists are finding this blog.

  • @Helene: Same here. This post has had a lot of traffic. I found it very early from a pastor in a neighboring city that my church supports when he posted it on his FB wall.

Not sure why I’ve taken it so personal, though, to defend this blog so vehemently, lol. I love it. I like to write. I just get rubbed the wrong way when people make being a disciple of Jesus out to being a sissy.

When I read the Word of God I don’t see weakness. I don’t see tolerance to sin. I don’t see a call for us to be push-overs. I see boldness. I see passion. I see Jesus as a revolutionary that did everything against the grain to challenge the religious (Isn’t amazing though how some have made a religion out of Jesus’s non-religious works? [that’s for another topic of conversation]).

I’m not into religion. Jesus came against the religious. Religion becomes routine and routine becomes boring. I’m in a relationship w/a living God Who died for me and saved me from myself. Jesus found me when I was a 10 year old boy after my brother and I walked to church one Sunday without our parents. I wasn’t raised in a Christian home so I wasn’t “indoctrinated from birth”. I knew nothing about the Gospel. I met the Lord that day through the power of the Holy Spirit as a little boy and He’s had His hook in me ever since – I’m 31 now involved in part-time ministry and my brother is a full-time college pastor. Both of us are at the same church that we walked to almost 21 years ago.

Guys like Christopher I’d love to meet on the street and give them the real Gospel. The Gospel that changes lives. I don’t believe that you can be that effective on a blog to someone hellbent on being nasty to a guy like Pastor Norris after he obviously poured his heart into a well-written article like this. The least I can do is defend our faith and not let imbeciles try to hijack it.

  • Ridiculous. Just another example of the religious zealots seeking to rule the world and censor whatever artist/music they don’t agree with—does the censorship trials in the 1980’s ring a bell? Again, it’s a case of “if you’re not like me, you’re evil”. Acceptance is love. Posting garbage about someone’s lifestyle/makeup/appearance is nothing but hate mongering and ARROGANCE!!

  • And no, I don’t agree with @Christopher. I simply do not believe it is being a good Christian to condemn, judge, and force your rhetoric on people because they’re different. That is God’s business people, not ours. You all seem to forget the passage “Judge not lest you be judged”. It’s ignorance and arrogance, and that is all.

  • Daniel, what a well written, well thought out, and accurate article. You nailed the pin on the head with powerful precision. This article is a clear call to attention, and a warning for Christians to avoid compromising with Gaga’s uncompromising message. Gaga is an enemy of the Cross of Christ.

  • Wow. Where exactly does JESUS say in the new testament that being homosexual is a sin? I’m not talking about old testament, so spare me with that. I mean JESUS Himself…. was He not friends with prostitutes, lepars, and sinners in general? I can’t believe how hateful, ignorant, and judgemental you people are. Believe like me or you’re going to hell. How arrogant!!!!! It’s not your job to judge!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re all egomaniacs! Either a person is gay or they’re not. It’s not a choice. You are all so ignorant. So sad. Organized religion is an abomination. You all pedal hate and intolerance and 99% of you are HYPOCRITES! Go to church on Sunday, and Mon-Sat you cheat on your spouses, look at porn on the net, lie to your bosses, have a few drinks, lust after that cute office worker, and envy the neighbors new SUV. I’ll keep my relationship with my Savior Jesus just between He and I. You would only corrupt it.

  • Well put PDK.
In regards to some of the comments i have read, we ALL have opinions….good or bad. However, as a born again believer of the gospel, I find it VERY interesting that a “saved” person can listen to Gaga. Have we forgoten our place in this world? Shame on us, while we are letting a generation be feed this “music” (and I use that word VERY loosly in Gaga’s case) we let it slide and let a generation go to hell? Shame on us, have we forgotten that we are to be a light in the darkness? I agree with many of you, do not rebuke Gaga as a person…..rebuke the spirit inside of her. This was a GREAT article, and i speak on behalf of my fellow redliners…..THIS SHOULD SOOOOOOOOOO BE ONE OF YOUR SERMONS!

  • @SKR:

Well, you can’t separate the OT from the NT. Jesus said in Matthew 5:17-18:Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. So sin is still sin even in the NT.

I don’t believe Jesus had to say anything about homosexually because God already wrote the book on it.

If you want to go further Jesus actually defined adultery as lust through the 7th commandment (Old Testament, might I add) in Matthew 5:27-28: You’ve heard it said “Do not commit adultery”, but I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Please don’t even try to say that you can’t look at women lustfully, but you think it’s okay for a guy to lust after a guy or chick with a chick.

In the New Testament Paul said in Romans1:26-27: Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

I Corinthians 6:9-10: Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

I’m not even go to go there with “Sorry you’ve met hypocrites yadda, yadda, yadda…” They’re just that: hypocrites. There is a remnant though of the real church that is trying to keep itself holy for the coming of the bridegroom to be taken into the marriage supper of the Lamb. There’s always a counterfeit when there’s a genuine. Just b/c there’s bad politicians doesn’t mean they’re all corrupt. Just b/c there’s police officers that abuse their power doesn’t mean they’re all bad.

  • “I Corinthians 6:9-10: Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.”

@Jon, if this is the criteria for Heaven, hardly anyone’s gonna go.

“If you want to go further Jesus actually defined adultery as lust through the 7th commandment (Old Testament, might I add) in Matthew 5:27-28: You’ve heard it said “Do not commit adultery”, but I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Please don’t even try to say that you can’t look at women lustfully, but you think it’s okay for a guy to lust after a guy or chick with a chick.”

You actually think it’s realistic for people not to look at another with lust? Oh, and I never said it was “OK” for gays to lust each other. I just asked where Jesus talked about it…..

“I don’t believe Jesus had to say anything about homosexually because God already wrote the book on it.”

Really? So then why did Jesus speak on other issues God had already “wrote the book on”??? Again, I just asked you WHERE…and you came up with this excuse. lol

“There is a remnant though of the real church that is trying to keep itself holy for the coming of the bridegroom to be taken into the marriage supper of the Lamb”

Um, Ok. That’s what the Crusader’s thought too. They were also zealots. And we know all the ‘good’ they did in the name of God.

The only difference between present day and the Salem Witch Trials is that today no one is actually lighting a match. People like yourself are fulfilling a need for self-importance and power by your ‘if you don’t believe like I do you’re going to hell’ attitudes. Egos run amok, because your interpretation of the Bible MUST be the only correct one!!!

  • Oh, and just a footnote…..people like you make me want to despise religion. It’s hateful and arrogant coming from you.

    My Savior is neither thankfully.

  • @SDK
“…if this is the criteria for Heaven, hardly anyone’s gonna go.”
Answer: Correct. That is why Jesus died on the cross because He knew that in our sinful nature none of us could make His criteria.

However, that does not excuse us from living a libertine lifestyle. (Sidebar: Paul warned in scripture–i think Ephesians–about those who use Grace as a license to sin or practice a lifestyle of sin.) Read the short epistle of I John to see who is a child of God and who is not. Those who claim they walk in the light but live in darkeness are not his. Furthermore, it states…
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

@SDK “You actually think it’s realistic for people not to look at another with lust? Oh, and I never said it was “OK” for gays to lust each other. I just asked where Jesus talked about it…..”

Answer: It is not a matter of being realistic. Jon was actually making the point for not singling out “gays” but that lust, and i might add fornication, is not a gay/straight issue; it is a sin issue. You have to take the entire Bible as God’s word, written by men but inspired by the Holy Spirit (part of God’s trinity). Now, if you don’t believe that it is the word of God then we don’t have a good foundation for this discussion from a biblical standpoint. Whether it is Paul or John who wrote it or Jesus, it is still “gospel truth” and if we call ourselves Christians then we must walk in that.

@SDK “Really? So then why did Jesus speak on other issues God had already “wrote the book on”??? Again, I just asked you WHERE…and you came up with this excuse. lol”

Answer: Jesus might have not said something specifically about homosexuality just as he never spoke specifically about prostitution, adultery or fornication. In other words yes he did have compassion on them but told them “go and sin no more.” I think, again, anyone who takes the entire word of God as God’s viewpoint on what is sin and what is not, will agree that Jesus did not condone sin. He loved sinners enough to help them turn around, follow him (which excluded following their former lifestyle), and did not “leave them” or in the modern vernacular was “tolerant” of their lifestyle.

@SDK (responding to Jon’s comment about a remnant)
“Um, Ok. That’s what the Crusader’s thought too. They were also zealots. And we know all the ‘good’ they did in the name of God.”

Answer: My dear SDK you misinterpreted this comment. Jesus himself spoke about sifting out the weeds from the tares, the goats from the lambs. Since the times when Jesus walked the earth (and even before) to after his ascension to today, there have always been those who call themselves followers of Christ and they are not. You make some mention of those “hypocrites” yourself. They don’t walk in love, they live a double life, while they point the finger at others. I agree it is despicable because a lot of these people have inoculated many against Christianity. Follow the analogy, when you inoculate someone you give them just enough of the virus to make them inmune. I can see from this blog that many have had just enough so called christianity to make them turn away from the truth. Jon was simply alluding to the fact that the “remnant” are the few (because trust me although the new life in Christ is offered to all, few take it upon themselves to follow it in its entirerity). Now that is not being ellitist, it is a fact. The way to God (Jesus said) is narrow, but wide is the way to destruction. I wish it was not a remnant. I wish it was the whole world but reality is it is not. And btw, I don’t believe the Crusaders were truly behaving as Christians. Judging by what some of the things that were purported as being done (disclaimer: I am not a student of history), i don’t believe they represented a true Christian, as were not the witch hunters of Salem. Paul was very clear that we are to be gentle and persudade others with kindness and gentleness (i am paraphrasing).

    @SDK
“People like yourself are fulfilling a need for self-importance and power by your ‘if you don’t believe like I do you’re going to hell’ attitudes. Egos run amok, because your interpretation of the Bible MUST be the only correct one!!!”

Answer: Wow, SDK, that doesn’t sound like the speech of someone who is supposed to love his/her brother. Do you know Jon personally? I don’t so, nor do I know you, so I would not dare to speak to another brother or sister in Christ the way you do. Take another look at what you wrote and how you wrote it and judge yourself. I don’t believe Jon was given his own interpretation or deciding who goes to hell or who doesn’t. Now, what you say sounds eerily familiar with what unbelievers say when cornered. They figure if they throw in the “it’s your interpretation” or “everyone who doesn’t believe like you goes to hell” that the conversation ends right there. Well, let me clue you into something, my sister or brother (i don’t know your gender) no one sends anyone to hell, not even Jesus. People who decide to stay in their current path through unbelief, send themselves to hell. It is not the mission of any true believer to send anyone to help but to point people to truth and a better way.

and finally…@SDK, responding to your PS
“Oh, and just a footnote…..people like you make me want to despise religion. It’s hateful and arrogant coming from you.

    My Savior is neither thankfully.”

Answer: Nothing wrong with despising relition. Jesus despised religion too. We are not about religion here, we are anti-religion and pro relationship. (See my other comment on Christianity inoculation perpetuated by the religious who lack a deep understanding of the true gospel–the religious, that is.)

Having said that, Christianity is about relationship and you cannot survive as a Christian being an island onto yourself with your Savior. You need other believers (true believers, berears of his Light and Salt) to support you, strengthen you, share your faith, joys, and sorrows with. Jesus never intended for us to go on with our faith on our own. Notice that Jesus compares us to sheep and sheeps journey together as a flock.

Let me just say to you SDK, that from one Christian to another, there should be no animosity. We can disagree respectfully and in love. Now, Jon has a very direct style of writing and we need that in the body. As the word says speaking of the body of Christ, “let not the hand say to the eye, I don’t need you …etc.” We need each other and we should unite together to dispels myths and seek truth. If you are a true Christian you will see it that way too. I encourage you to seek other believers who are truly seeking after God’s heart and partner with them so you can be built up in the faith.

    In His Love

  • @SKR:

A person like you will not be satisfied until someone says, “It’s OK, God will accept you just as you are.”.

See, you’re guilty of breaking the 2nd commandment: you’ve created a god of yout mind; one that suits your conscious. Your god is not the God of the Bible.

God DOES NOT accept us just as we are. He forgives us just as we are. We cannot earn it. It’s a free gift, BUT once you receive Him we must REPENT from our sins.

Don’t you think it takes MORE faith to believe that God is going to just overlook our iniquity on judgement than to just believe that He’s going to do what He says He’s going to do and that judge it in the end? Isn’t it harder to believe than to just believe His Word?

BTW: the way of a sinner is hard. Walking with Jesus is easy.

Also, BTW, Jesus didnt change anything regarding sin. Jesus always deals with the heart. He redefined what sin is and it starts in the heart. The Jews did everything on the outside that seemed right, but their heart were far from the Father. They believed their works would save them and keeping the law, in other words, they were religious. Jesus showed them their hearts. We’re all sinners. It leaves no one without excuse. Only way to the Father is through Him; repenting of your sins and putting your full faith in trusting and following Him.

  • I think that it’s amusing (actually I’m grieved) that people believe that God just woke up one day and said, “You know, all the things I said before…I’ve changed my mind.”

Jesus didn’t die for us so to permit sin. Jesus died for us to redeem us from sin.

You forget that we’re washed in blood. We’re paid for in blood.

@SKR: Who do you think goes to hell? Do you believe that there is a place called hell?

  • @HELENE, I thank you for your response. Though we still disagree, you are correct in the fact that I do owe @JON an apology for the names. I let my anger get the better of me.

@JON, I do apologise for the names. That is about all I have to say to you, except to answer your questions: I believe in hell. As for who goes there, I will only say “sinners” as a general answer because I’m not God so I don’t know a man’s sins. I don’t know what to say to your statement about my God not being the God of the Bible except that it pretty much goes to prove my statements about you needing to be right. And I’m not name calling here, but you SEEM to have a large ego and a definately a very abrasive way of “spreading God’s word”. I’m not one to listen to that particular way of sharing the Word.

  • @SKR:

I do have a direct way of writing – and it is deliberate. Paul when writing to the church in Corinth, II Cor 13, wrote harshly, his own words – not mine, to be direct.

I’m only writing again just to finish up my thought concerning the question I asked and that’s if you believe in hell and who goes there. You said “sinners”. I Cor 6:9-10 is a pretty good place to start to see where you line up. You know, the scripture you said that if that’s the criteria hardly anyone’s going to go. If you take issue with the Word of God than that’s between you and God. Again, that provokes the thought process I was getting to before and that’s how can a person “believe” in Jesus as their savior been then reject the very Word of God. That’s another issue of topic though.

This isn’t about my ego nor am I trying to evangelize here. This is a blog started by D.K. Norris, a Christian, as a warning, as I’ve read it, to other Christians to be on the lookout for what ‘Lady Gaga’ promotes. And it’s the truth.

You said “sinners” go to hell and then gave the disclaimer that you don’t know a man’s sin – I’d like to give the disclaimer that no one here, including the original blog by Pastor Norris, nor myself, as yet to damn ‘Lady Gaga’ to hell. Amen.

@Helene: I love the flu shot analogy. My pastor uses that one. It really is where the modern American church is today. We’ve had just enough of religion to make us immune to the life changing presence of a Living God and real truth – as you can see from many of those that defend this young girl.

    It’s all about Jesus!

  • @Jon You’re right. It’s all between me and God. So don’t worry yourself or waste your Paul-inspired abrasive rantings on me any more. I appreciate your comments, though I still think your ego is the size of Texas. You are definately someone I would NOT listen to, attend church with, or care to discuss anything with. You’re arrogant. And if YOU are represent the “modern American church” I won’t be attending. I’m moving on now….you can go back to hearing yourself talk.

  • Christians are ALWAYS the first to pass judgement. Coming from a family of Christians I know first hand they can be hypocrites. If Mr. Norris doesnt care for Gagas music then he should focus his energy on more important issues rather than worrying about trying to boycot an artist…even though he says hes not trying to boycott her lol.

  • Eureka – I was reading a news article on Yahoo about Lady Gaga and then there was a photo gallery of some of her “best costumes”. As I clicked through them I realized who Lady Gaga is: She’s Willy Wonka!

Anyway, I thought of this post and thought I’d share.
