He is Risen!

risen

What do you believe? It’s you’re belief in that statement that qualifies or disqualifies you as being a Christian and having inherited eternal life.

Matt. 28:5   The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.  7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples

I believe an unbelievable story.  I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, who was crucified on a cross for our sins, laid to rest in a tomb, and on the third day raised from the dead.  I believe that He ascended to Heaven and will one day return to establish His Kingdom.

Those few points make up the core of my beliefs and it’s faith in those facts that makes you truly Christian.

Recent studies reveal that 75%-80% of Americans identify themselves as Christian.  However if pressed you’d find that the many within that 80% would not be as head strong about those facts.

I’ve staked my life on them.  ff pressed to recant I could not, even if threaten with the loss of my own life.

“Are you for real?

That was the response from a student that had visited with me a week ago.  He couldn’t believe that I’d give my life for something that to him was just a story.

What do you believe?

Is He the Son of God?  Did He die on a cross for your sins?  Did He rise from the Dead?  Is He going to return?

If all this is true, then there is a decision that has to be made.  Will you make a choice to repent (turn from your current way of living), and give Jesus the rightful place within your life… Lord!

That is the essence of Christianity.
