ONE NATION UNDER GOD – INDEED!

Anytime that I post or preach the fact that America was birthed as a Christian nation there is alway a push back from a few challenging that fact (just read the comments on my Revolutionary video on Youtube).  You can deny history… but you can not change it.

There is a print that hangs on the walls of our office. It is a historical depiction of the very first prayer service in Congress. Here is the background of the print:

In 1787, representatives from the 13 states met in Philadelphia to iron out differences that threatened to destroy the new nation. However, the battles between them intensified until statements made by Benjamin Franklin brought a sobering air to the room.

“I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth – that god governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?

… I therefore beg leave to move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessing on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business…”

Our Constitution was written shortly thereafter, by these men who earnestly sought God.

Regardless the label you may or may not throw on your life: Christian, secularist, atheist, agnostic, buddhist, muslim… Be thankful that these men did seek God and believed that His hand guided the founding documents of this great nation. Freedom, Free Will, Religious Freedom find their roots within the Judeo-Christian ethic. So know that the “Rights” you cling to, exist because of the very religious roots you seek to deny.

God Bless America and May God bless You!
